Description

Our first dedicated tweeter is here, the SSA Evil1. Developed from the start, alongside the SSA Evil6.5’s, the all-new SSA Evil1 is meant for the discerning music fan that really cares about the quality of the music they are listening to. With a large silk dome and low Fs. the SSA Evil1 is very smooth and blends very well with the mid and mid-bass range. Using a sound transparent grill, you can be confident in the fact the tweeter will be safe for many years of excellent performance. Designed to be flexible for not only high-end car audio front stages, but premium bookshelf’s, and high-end home audio towers. In designing the SSA Evil1 we were able to pull off a large 28mm dome in a compact aluminum housing. If you are looking for shrill, piercing, PA-style high’s, this is not the tweeter for you. If you are looking for clarity and balance, at a reasonable price, don’t sleep on the new SSA Evil1.

    99% perfect

These tweeters sound amazing. Very little EQ needed on the DSP. The low fs makes them very versatile. If there was one thing I would change, is pull the tweeter from the aluminum housing and offer multi-adjustable install options. There it. Otherwise they are great. They sound great. The build quality is top notch. They just require additional custom work to fit in a car.

I've looked at these for a while. I have two systems using the SSA Evil 6.5, and they are some of the best mids that I've used. They could use a bit more in the lower freq, but that is a different story. One of my systems used the Evil 6.5" and Image Dynamics XS teeters. The more recent build I tried to replicate, but was using RF Power Tweets. I couldn't pin point exactly was was lacking on this new build that the other one has. Took a chance on the Evil Tweeters and night and day difference. I've read a lot of reviews on them and people have been happy. But this is just what I needed. They really bring the life back into the sound. The low FS is a good thing to have. I currently have them at 2800hz and they don't miss anything. In this vehicle at least, the sweeps and RTA required minimal EQ with the DSP. I did have to lower the levels quite a bit compared to the RF tweets. This things sound fantastic! The only negative I have is the mounting design. Being that they are in a one piece sealed housing, it can get a bit tricky with the mounting. I would love to see them incorporate these in a more "universal" mounting system. Other than that, I think I'm going to order another pair!

Upgraded my front stage tweeters to the ssa evils to match the evil mids, and these things more than keep up. Loud, while sounding clean, and not harsh or shrill, just great blending all around. Came with everything needed to install and was super easy. Will add a pair on my bookshelf speakers next.

    Glorious in every way

This has to be my absolute favorite silk dome tweeter I’ve heard. With such a low FS, crossover points are incredibly flexible depending what mids they are paired up with. I have purchased 4 sets of these, for a good reason. None have blown, one set was in an old daily I sold. Two sets are in my demo car and one set in my new daily. They are clear, transparent and damn loud. Smooth is definitely the word to use to describe them. If you’re wondering what tweets to buy with so many on the market, stop thinking and hit that “Add to Cart” button for these.

Hands down the best tweeters on the market! Aluminum casing and a sturdy honeycomb grill makes these tweets the most durable tweets ever! And they sound even better than they look! Forget needing bullet super tweeters, these silk domes keep up just fine and look badass doing it!

    Lives up to the hype

At first, I was left speechless... Then as I collected myself, I finally was able to explain how incredible these tweeters are.
First of all, I'm coming from some off the shelf mainstream tweeters that came as a basic Polk audio component set. The best way I can explain the difference is: the other tweets were like jamming a set of earbuds in at max volume. These... These are like listening to a piano on stage within an acoustically tuned auditorium...except loud, very loud, yet it has this light, detailed airyness to the sound. Just very spacious sounding. No fatigue. I can best compare these to the Dayton Audio silkies in the towers of my home HiFi setup but with a bunch more volume potential. The Evil tweets are super smooth, rich sounding and accurate...but still at home in an extremely high output setup.
No metal tray holding a pound of nails falling on a floor sound out of these, nope, nothing but high fidelity. Go buy these for your mom, your dad, brother, sister... Anybody. Because chances are, they'll thank you. 5 stars SSA, yall knocked it out of the park with these bad mofo's. I would have paid double for the quality and customer service like this.
