SSA Evil6.5" Mid-bass Speaker

I bought eight of these to replace the six pioneer pros mid bass speakers. The pioneers are very loud but lack the detail. But I bought them to enhance the vocals. Also purchased 2 pair of the SSA tweeters. They sound great. Very well balanced, smooth and detailed. I'm very satisfied with these speakers. These are not loudspeakers that some people are use too, they're a good SQ speaker at a good price

Everything is fine and dandy, other than shipment. I ordered another set of speakers from a different website at the same time and they arrived before SSA even shipped these evils! So if you are in a hurry, probably not your best option.

Best midbass driver I've ever purchased

This speaker IS as advertised.
I bought it for these features:
1) 125 watts RMS
2) 20 oz. magnet
3) xmax 6mm

10) Copper voice coil on aluminum former

I bought these 2 Evils to replace front door speakers in my 2013 Hyundai Genesis Sedan. The factory speakers were very poor quality. They had no mid or high freqs and worst of all they had one note bass that boomed so bad I rarely if ever used the radio for music. Even with the bass turned all the way off, it boomed.
The Evils have much better CLEAR sound. You can understand the spoken voice. There is NO boom unless you dial it in with the head unit.
The mid and high frequencies are AMAZINGLY clear and smooth. you can adjust any amount of mid or high freq you want with the head unit.
The punch power of the speaker on kick drums and snares is excellent and real. Cymbals is like they're right in the car.
I'm not one of those guys that parks my vehicle, opens the doors, and serenades the neighborhood with my choice of music at a 110dB.
I'm on the road for thousands of miles and don't want to be fatigued by distorted music and crappy speakers.
With the Evils, I get quality and quantity for and amazingly reasonable price.
AND they are made in America!

2013 Hyundai Genesis has horrible factory speakers.
Replaced front door 6.5s with these Evil 6.5s. MUCH better.
More mid and high frequencies. Smoother response curve. Plays much louder with less distortion and breakup.
This is a 100 watt speaker compared to factory 25- 50 watt.
Speech is super intelligible, Singing voices are understandable, and bass is articulate rather than one note BOOMMY like the factory.
These drivers are very well built with heavy frames and high tech cone materials. They have a phase cone (bullet) that accounts for directionality inside car. The magnet is full size 20 oz. ferrite.
The driver fits onto plastic factory housing with metal screws. Wiring requires some modification for hookup.
These drivers have extra design features found only on the most expensive 6.5s including shorting ring on pole piece and a carbon fiber cone.

As always, SSA Delivers with nothing but the best! The Evil mini's delivers great SQ along with excellent "SPL". You will NOT be dissapointed with these mid ramge drivers by any means. Pair them up with the new SSA Evil tweeters for an AMAZING sound!

Awesome speakers, I changed from Image Dynamics to these SSA great choice I made

I bought two of these (plan on 2 more) I built a center console for them and the response they give is literally jaw dropping they sound like a factory Subwoofer is somewhere in the truck. For being mid bass the high end is amazing I honestly could go with out tweeters. I'd highly recommend to anyone looking for a quality built mid bass driver to bring your music to life!

This 6.5 are the best I've owned. Everything about this product is awesome.
