Description

Designed from the ground up, through copious amounts of R&D with use of the highest quality materials, we met our goals of creating a reference grade component set. Suitable for all types of music, the Mezzo's excel in strong midbass extension, natural midrange presence and smooth crisp tweeter output.

The SQ2 Woofer

The Mezzo woofer starts with a Super rigid, powder coated Cast and CNC Machined aluminum basket. Utilizing low-carbon steel plates and a copper shorting ring, the motor consists of a Y35 Grade Ferrite Magnet, mated to a CNC machined pole piece. A precision high temperature 1.25" copper voice coil was used, coupled to a Ultra light HoneyComb Carbon-Kevlar™ woven cone & dustcap, free of any fiber impurity to maximize a uniform level of rigidity throughout all surface area.

 The SQ2 crossover

The key to a superior component set, is a superior passive crossover. Fitted with Ultra low tolerance Capacitors and low-stray inductors, mounted on separately phased planes, ensuring no cross-talk, excellent fidelity and minimal power loss at the crossovers. The crossover network features 18db/octave cutoffs at 3400hz in both the Tweeter and Midrange networks, allowing for a more precise transition between the 2 components. Adjustable tweeter level circuit for output balancing to be easily tune-able in any install scenario.

 The SQ2 Tweeter

The Mezzo SQ2 tweeter is custom milled from 1 solid piece of billet aluminum, allowing for extremely precise tuning of the custom designed rear chamber. 29mm in size, it features a Transparent natural fiber Silk Dome, and super high grade dual ring Neodymium magnet, with a Copper 26mm voice coil for higher power handling, aiding for the goal of lower Fs and increased Fidelity then the typical counterpart. The specially designed rear chamber precisely controls the rear wave during high volume and dynamics in your music in order to preserve detail and linearity.

    great sounding components.

these components sound amazing. I love them and do not regret 2/3 of my purchase.... the crossover us ridiculously cheap however. I really don't know what crescendo was thinking by adding such a poorly made crossover with such good built woofer and tweeter. also packaging was a freaking joke.... but in all I'm very happy with them.

I keep having problems with mine.

Posted by Anonymous on Jun 1st 2014

When they arrived they had a dented dust cap, which when I contacted Crescendo they told me to use a Vacuum to it to pop it out. This worked and had me relieved. Fast forward 3 days later I was listening to regal and the tweeters just stopped. I contact them and we pin pointed the problem to the tweeters. Well they email me a RMA number and told me I were to receive a courtesy shipping label and what was my address. I give them my address and have not heard back from Crescendo. It has been about a week now. The crossovers feel cheap the plastic window did not stay on so I taped it, the covers barely stayed on so those were taped on after installation. They sounded wonderful and I loved how loud they were while still maintaining depth. I just wish I could get a response out of Crescendo so I can send in my tweeters....

They sound great and they SCREAM!

They sound wonderful. really nice sound and very loud. I love what materials used, all very high quality. The tweeter dome came dented in, which is not a big deal. Just take a shop vac to it and pops her right out. The build quality for the crossovers is bad. Glass lid comes off, and the plastic cover does not stay on very well at all. I just decided to tape it with clear scotch tape. Not like you will see them in the doors.
