The Orion Cobalt Class D amplifiers, also known as switching amplifiers, are a type of amplifier that have gained popularity due to their high efficiency and compact size. Unlike traditional Class A/B amplifiers, which operate in linear mode and can be less efficient. The main characteristic of Class D amplifiers is their use of pulse-width modulation to rapidly switch the output transistors on and off. This switching process allows the amplifiers to efficiently control the amount of power delivered to the load by varying the width of the pulses.
